AI Interview Ready vs Teal: Interview Practice, Job Tracking and Free Limits

Choose a practice workflow by the task you need to complete: a spoken mock interview, a focused text answer, or preparation tied to a tracked application.

AI Interview Ready vs Teal: Interview Practice, Job Tracking and Free Limits

AI Interview Ready

Both AI Interview Ready and Teal offer AI interview practice, feedback, job tracking and application documents. If you want spoken mock interviews connected to jobs you already track in Teal, start by considering Teal. If you want to draft and evaluate role-specific text answers before deciding on paid speech-to-text practice, AIR offers that starting point. Your preferred practice format matters more than a headline free-limit number.

Disclosure and method: AI Interview Ready publishes this comparison about its own product. We reviewed Teal's official product page, help articles and pricing on October 15, 2026, and checked AIR's public pricing against its current application code on October 16, 2026. This is a documentation comparison, not a hands-on review of Teal's dashboard or a test of either product's coaching quality. No paid Teal plan was purchased. Offers can change; check the linked sources before subscribing.

Three questions and two sessions measure different things

AIR's free start is a small exercise: three tailored questions, your typed answers, and feedback. It is useful for checking whether the questions fit your role and whether the comments help you revise an answer. It does not include free speech-to-text. A CV is optional: the manual path asks for a target role or job description, rather than requiring a resume upload.

Teal's Agent guide calls its free allowance two sessions, while its Hub guide calls it two scenarios. Both describe unlimited practice for Teal+. We did not verify a fixed question count or duration per free session, whether the two entry points share one allowance, or an allowance reset schedule. Do not assume two fresh sessions in each area.

That makes “three versus two” a poor value comparison. A conversation can contain follow-ups; an individual question is a smaller unit. Decide what you want to learn from the trial: Can you explain your experience without rambling? Can you identify one useful change from the feedback? Neither free count answers those questions for you.

What a paid AIR plan adds

AIR's public pricing lists 20 mock interviews and 300 speech-to-text minutes per month on Plus; Pro advertises unlimited mock interviews with 900 speech-to-text minutes per month. “Unlimited interviews” does not mean unlimited recording minutes. Annual billing is $140 for Plus or $290 for Pro, charged for a year rather than at the displayed monthly equivalent.

Plus also lists 10 AI question generations, 10 cover letters and 10 resume tailorings per month, up to five resumes and 100 tracked applications. Pro advertises unlimited access to those document/tracker categories. Choose according to the work you expect to do; a lower subscription price alone does not establish equivalent features or better feedback. Check the current offer and checkout total before paying.

An example decision: one interview, twelve saved applications

Illustrative scenario, not a customer result: Maya has twelve applications in Teal and a customer success interview on Friday. She wants to practise explaining a difficult renewal, then keep the notes with that role.

Her first sensible step is to open the saved job's interview practice in Teal. The documented workflow returns her to the job with feedback, a transcript and a recording after practice. Moving all twelve applications elsewhere would add work before she knows she needs another tool.

Now change one constraint: Maya needs to prepare silently on a shared train journey. She can write a renewal answer and use AIR's free text questions to inspect her explanation. Later, she can say the revised answer aloud herself or use a tool with spoken practice. We did not verify a typed-response mode in Teal's documentation, so this is a reason to inspect that requirement before choosing, not a claim that such a mode cannot exist.

To compare feedback fairly, Maya would use the same truthful experience and role context. She would note whether each tool spots a missing action or unsupported result, then judge the advice against her actual experience. That is a proposed evaluation process; we did not perform it or observe Maya's results.

Which choice fits your situation?

  • You already organise your search in Teal and want spoken conversations: Teal may be the better fit. Its existing tracker connection and documented Mock/Coach options give you a reason to try it before moving tools.
  • You want a focused text exercise now: consider AIR's three-question start. Paste the role context, type your own answer, and assess the feedback before paying for more practice or speech-to-text.
  • You need a broad free job tracker while applying: Teal's advertised unlimited free tracking is relevant. AIR's paid Application Kits may suit someone who wants role documents and preparation together, but the free three questions are not a promise of a free full tracker.
  • You already like one tracker but want a second practice format: using both can make sense. Keep one main record of application status, use the other for a specific exercise, and avoid maintaining duplicate pipelines without a reason.

Choose a useful next action before choosing a subscription. If the interview is tomorrow, use the 60-minute preparation plan. For an initial recruiter call, use the short-answer phone screen guide. For deeper role preparation, turn the job description into evidence and questions.

Sources and limits of this comparison

Teal sources checked October 15, 2026: AI Interview Practice, Interview Practice Agent, Interview Practice Hub and Teal+ pricing. AIR's public pricing and product overview were checked alongside the implementation on October 16, 2026. The overview shows spoken practice near free-start messaging; the free plan's speech allowance is zero, so this article describes free practice as text only. We have not measured comparative answer quality, tested Teal's paid account, or verified every feature absent from its documentation.
